The updated Nissan Nismo GT-R has been revealed with carbon-fibre parts and a lot more down force than ever. It has finally been priced in the UK at £149,995 and goes on sale from 1 November 2016.
The price makes it more expensive than a Porsche 911 Turbo S which is available with a price tag of £145,773. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS which is a track car will cost £131,296 in the UK.
The GT-R Nismo has new grille and bumper design from its predecessor. One big difference is that it has parts which are made from carbon-fibre and generate greater downforce than any other Nissan road car ever.
To make sure the GT-R is all new, the Nismo version gets upgraded shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers. All of this is combined with extra downforce Nissan says it’s better to drive than ever.
All of this has increased cornering performance by nearly 2 per cent according to Nissan. You can adjust the settings to suit you as well, using an adaptive damper system.
Although it has all these changes, but the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 produces 592bhp at 6,800rpm and 652Nm of torque from 3,600rpm to 5,600rpm.
It is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The engine is hand-built by specially trained Nissan technicians.
All of these changes mean lightning fast speed of 0-62mph in around 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 200mph.
Nismo’s interior has been upgraded too with a redesigned dashboard, steering wheel and center armrest which utilizes Alcantara. It also has a larger 8-inch display screen on the dash.
In order to simplify things, the button layout has been changed. A display command control lets you operate the display without having to touch the screen. You can also get leather Recaro sports seats with red inserts.
