Last year in November LA Motor Show, Ford revealed its Escape with U.S. specifications and the three months later the Escape has made its way to the European market. But it is no more named as the Escape because in the Europe it will be sold under the name plate of the Kuga on the boot. It was introduced at the 2016 World Mobile Congress with a suit of pictures.
The spec details about the officially announced Ford engine, the all-new SUV will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show.
Ford has officially announced the engine details and the big news is the introduction of an even efficient 118bhp diesel engine. It is a Ford 1.5-litre engine to lead the package from front. The new engine has been acclaimed as a fuel efficient unit by Ford and said that the new unit will return an average fuel economy of more than 64 miles per gallon on a European test cycle. It is also claimed as a cleaner and greener engine with the claimed carbon emissions of 115g/km.
It is a brand new engine that doesn’t replace any existing unit but it should prove a fleet favourite unit with 148bhp and 178bhp 2.0-litre TDCi. Two 1.5-litre turbo petrol will also be offered in the Kuga engine line-up.
Ford is about to offer around five models in the SUV class and the Kuga SUV is among those five redesigned models. It will join the updated Ecosport and the all new Edge. It will go on sale by the end of 2016.
The all new sync 3 infotainment system has been introduced in a series of models including the new Kuga. There are Galaxy, Mondeo, and the S-Max, to make the cars connected. The Kuga 1.5-litre engine model will get the SYNC 3 infotainment system and will rival to premium SUVs in the class such as BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
